The business was founded in the late 1960’s by the previous owner, “Rudi”, as Rudi’s Furniture. As the original name implies, the business was furniture only at that time and was located in a smaller space across the street from its current location on Main Street.
In the 1980’s, the current owner James Harms, helped Rudi on a part-time basis with deliveries when not working at his full-time Deputy Sheriff position.
James part-time work at Rudi’s led to him buying the business and the acquisition was completed in 1988. A few years later in the early 1990’s James & his wife Sherry added Flooring to the business and moved the operation across the street into their current showroom.
As the flooring business continued to grow over the years it overtook the Furniture business, and a few years ago Rudi’s ceased selling Furniture, with exception of Mattresses.
